iPad A16 iPad OS Version 18.5 camera pause button missing

Just got an iPad A16 that came with iPadOS Version 18.5 installed, because I hoped the camera app would have a pause button available during video recording, similar to my iPhone 16 running iOS 18.

I transferred the settings over from my old iPad, which was a 9th generation. I now realize it was also on iPadOS Version 18.5.

The pause button does not appear when I start recording videos in the camera app. I am totally at a loss.

Anybody know how I can get the pause button to appear?

You can ask Apple to include a pause button while recording through their designated portal for such suggestions: Feedback - iPad - Apple

Don't expect any direct response, but Apple says they have staff assigned to read and digest the input they receive through this path and pass the result to Apple decision makers.
