Hi, I have a iPhone 12 Pro Max. When my lte is one it works fine & fast no problems.
when 5g randomly comes on my phone stops working, from my cell. I am remote with no wifi available.
If I sit in a certain spot, most of the day and night, never changes to 5G. I think it’s ghosts.
So, how do I turn off my 5G? Or why does this happen? Thank you in advance.

Try going to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Voice & Data. On my phone, that leads to a three choice menu: 5G Auto, 5G On, LTE.
I don’t know if it will on your phone because I believe the carrier gets to control these options.

Update to iOS 18.5 (current) as a start, then check with your carrier.
