iPhone 16 Pro Max screen went blank and unresponsive

Has anyone else faced this issue with their iPhone 16 Pro Max?

Earlier today, my phone suddenly went completely blank—no warning, no lag, just a black screen out of nowhere. I tried force restarting it, but all that happened was the flashlight blinking and a sound playing. I could still hear notifications and feel vibrations, so the phone was clearly on, but the screen just wouldn't respond.

After about 4 extremely stressful hours, the screen randomly started working again on its own. I’m honestly not sure what triggered it or why it happened. It was one of the most frustrating experiences I've had with a phone.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Should I be worried this might happen again? Do I need to get the screen replaced, or is it possibly a software glitch?
