What to do when Mac mini windows don't close?

Hi

It's difficult to explain, so here's a video

https://youtube.com/shorts/oL5KdT1AfPM?feature=shared

Basically I want this to stop happening. When I press the Red Cross I just want the page to disappear like it has previously.

Any help would be appreciated

Regards

Andy

The Red Cross is unknown to me

A Red Button in the Top Left of the Open and Running Application ?

That I do know

To Close an Open and Running application.

There are various ways to Close an Application

Click the Red Button may Close the Window of the application

Though, certain applications like Safari, Mail, Notes an some others may close the window but the application is still running

Check the Dock, if you use it

If the Window of said application has been truly 100% Closed, the application in the Dock will Not have the small black dot beneath it

The other way to Close and application

With said application window In view and focus

Use the keyboard combo ⌘ + q

Four-Finger Swipe:

Control + Arrow Keys:

Use Control + Left or Control + Right arrow keys to navigate between full-screen apps.

Mission Control:

You can also use Mission Control (usually activated by pressing F3) to view all open windows and desktops, including full-screen apps, and select the desired one

Sorry about that earlier comment about the Red Cross

I Only saw the Red + Cross once I Blew Up the below image

If I have offered you, I do apologize about.

The Street Lights ( to use that term ) in the Upper Lift of open windows of applications

Red is Close ( refer to earlier explanations on Closed ) Yellow is minimize

Mouse Over the Green button, as @Barney-15E mentioned

Will provide various options " Move & Resize ", " Fill and Arrange " plus Full Screen

Sorry, have watched all 3 vids multi times

I just do not get it, to be candid about this

It kind of looks like a Start Page in Safari, then it disappears , then you click in Dock >> Safari >> to launch

Thereafter Safari is put in Full Screen Mode

Then, Safari disappears again

After the latest " episode " I just do not trust what I think I am seeing
