Pending charge on Apple Account for unauthorized purchase

Their is a charge on my apple account and it is preventing me from downloading apps or using anything but I didn’t buy what it’s charging me for and I can’t request a refund because he charge is still pending

It is true you cannot request a refund on a pending charge. You have to determine how that charge could have occurred, as it is only possible to make a purchase on a device by double clicking the side button with the amount showing on the screen, followed by verification with Face ID/Passcode.

  • If you gave your Passcode to someone else, they are authorized to use your device and that includes purchases.
  • If you are the Organizer of a family plan using Purchase Sharing, you are authorizing other members to make purchases to your account.
  • If you started a free trial and did not cancel at least 24 hours before it ended, then you have agreed to be billed for the subscription you saw on the screen before double clicking the side button.
  • If you share your account with someone else, they are authorized to make purchases. You can see if there are any other devices logged into your account by going to Settings > [name on top], and scroll down to see devices that are logged into your account.
  • Do you know the name of the app when viewing your purchase history? That may tell you more about who made the charge or if it was a free trial that was not cancelled.
  • How long has the charge been pending and is the card valid to allow it to process?
