iMessages not being received by iPhone, only by Apple Watch

My iPhone is not receiving any iMessage messages, SMS go through normally. The iMessages go through to my Apple Watch fine and that is the only way I can currently view them. My iPhone can send iMessages and it shows "Delivered", it also shows the typing indicators.

When my Apple Watch is powered off and a iMessage is sent to me, it won't show as "Delivered" until the Apple Watch is powered on.

And yes, I have gone over all of the basic things, such as turning on and off iMessage, ensuring sending and receiving is enabled, restarts, disabling security features and removing configuration profiles, switching between cellular and WiFi, etc.

Does anybody have any experience with this happening or anyways to resolve this.
