What is best 2025 ad blocker for iPad

One of the most respected Ad/content blockers within the Apple App Store - designed for iPad, iPhone and Mac - is 1Blocker for Safari.

1Blocker is highly configurable - and crucially does not rely upon an external proxy-service of dubious provenance, often utilised by so-called AntiVirus products intended for iOS/iPadOS. Instead, all processing by 1Blocker takes place on your device - and contrary to expectations, Safari will run faster and more efficiently.

Unwanted content is not simply filtered after download (a technique used by basic/inferior products), but instead undesirable embedded content is blocked from download. The 1Blocker product has also recently introduced its new “Firewall” functions - that are explicitly designed to block “trackers”. Being implemented at the network-layer, this additional protection works across all Apps. Recent updates to 1Blocker has introduced additional network extensions, extending protection to other Apps.

As with all Apps, there are minimum system requirements. For iPad and iPhone, you require iOS/iPadOS 16.0 or later. For Mac, you'll need macOS 13.0 or later.

We use Ka-Block! on all of our Apple devices. It's free and available on the App Store for both macOS and iOS. Works just as well as any other paid or free options we've tried and tested.

I just use Brave browser. I recently factory reset my ipad thinking that would speed up everything on it but Safari lags worse than it did before. Just try going to ca.yahoo.com and reading any news story in Safari, it's brutally slow. Brave browser is always fast and blocks ads by default.

You can have more than one ad blocker. I use Ghostery and Ad Block Plus.
