Instagram Notifications Not Working Despite Having Them Turned On Both in The App and iPhone Settings

I've been using iPhone 16 Plus since January 2025 and had no issue with Instagram notifications until recently (6 months later). The application does not send me notification banners from the accounts I'm logged into sometimes, or if it does, then the notifications come from the account I'm currently logged into (the ones in the background get ignored completely). Sometimes, even that option slips, and I'm left unaware that there is a message in DMs waiting for me.

Before switching phones, I had iPhone 13 Pro Max that I got in August 2022, and the app also started to play up there about 6 months later.

Mind you, I have all of my settings switched on, both on iPhone general notification settings and Instagram app notification settings.

I tried:

- restarting the phone

- switching off general notifications for Instagram through iPhone settings, restarting the phone and switching them back on

- pressing "pause all" in Instagram notification settings and switching it back on

- limiting the number of accounts I'm logged in (I usually have 5 active accounts, so I narrowed it down to 3 at most)

Unfortunately, nothing worked. And it is really irritating because I can't contact Instagram Help Center about it either.

My family uses iPhones as well, but neither of them ever experienced this problem before.

What shall I do?

Check this, first.

Or Use and customize the Action button on iPhone - Apple Support (IN)

Then please check the following.

Notification Preview when Screen is Locked, Notification Alerts, Notification OFF, and much more...

  1. To get Notifications when the Screen is locked see the pic below which is self-explanatory
  2. To turn ON notifications selectively for apps, go to Settings > Notifications > Scroll Down to the App and turn ON notifications... Change notification settings on iPhone - Apple Support (IN)
  3. Some apps have their own notification settings over and above the iOS notification settings: An example of Instagram Notification settings is given below
  4. Help for Notification Alerts --> No Notification Alerts - Apple Community
  5. For VIP email Alerts refer to the pic below
  6. The pic below is self-explanatory
