Can I update iOS 17 on my iPhone 7?

The iPhone 7 does not have the hardware to support iOS 17. If you need that, you will need a newer device.

An iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, or iPhone SE 1 isn't capable of 16 or above; they require an A11 or better CPU.

The people on these boards are mostly other customers; they don't create iOS updates, and don't have any influence over which units Apple supports with them.

That will never happen. The iPhone 7 originally ran iOS 10, and you can update it to the latest release of iOS 15. You cannot update it to iOS 16 or higher, and that's not going to change.

As you have already been told, it will not run anything higher than what you have. It is not capable of anything higher than iOS 15.x. It will not run 16, 17, 18, or anything newer.
