iPhone 12 Pro receiver not working, requiring speakerphone for calls

My receiver on my iPhone 12 Pro stopped working. Absolutely no sound coming from receiver. I have to put all phone calls on speaker to hear anything. Confirmed by Apple Genius Bar receiver not working. This apparently is a problem with earlier builds of this iphone that was “fixed” with later builds (not sure then why my iPhone is having a receiver issue). This is a costly repair added atop of a costly phone. Told receiver and glass top together, unlike other iPhones. Very disappointed long time Apple product user!! Are others having a receiver issue with their iPhone 12’s?

Hello!

Your iPhone has a failed component on the receiver module. This was a problem with the iPhone 12, and Apple actually started a program where you could get service free of charge.

This program covers until 3 years after the initial retail sale of the device, so unfortunately there’s a good chance you’re not eligible anymore.
