iPhone 17 speaker will not work on 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee radio after iOS 26 update

Not sure what the cause is, but my Uconnect system worked perfectly on my iPhone 14 Pro. Unit does not support CarPlay.

Upgraded to iPhone 17 and the phone pairs, I can make calls, can hear the person answer and speak, but they can’t hear me.

was on with an Apple tech for 30 minutes and got it to work, but only for one call. This is a huge feature regression issue that Apple needs to fix asap.

anyone else have this issue? Have seen tons of traffic like this on Reddit with the same type of issue.

Talk to the support team at Uconnect. They have stated they are aware of an issue and working on an update to fix the bug. This has been reported in multiple social media forums.

Finally got to the bottom of this as the last solution I posted was only a short term fix (1 time).

Contacted the folks who own UConnect, and after a few attempts at possible solutions to no avail, the agent finally told me “this is a known problem and we are working on it”.

As another person has said, I too would never have bought the 17 knowing this. My short term solution is to use a pair of Air Pods……🤬🤬🤬😡😡😡

I’m not sure this is your issue, but I’ve had friends that had the uconnect system and uconnect had firmware or software dates to resolve the issue. The dealer didn’t even know there were updates.

I wasn’t thorough enough in my post. Sorry. uconnect is its own company. One of my friends got his issue fixed by contacting their support team. His dealer told him his was updated and I told him to contact uconnect directly.

Problem resolved.....this video shows how to adjust audio settings in the iPhone 17 series and fixed my issue of the phone audio not coming through on the UConnect system. What a mess, but it's back working again....Thanks for the help offered.

One of my friends that contacted Uconnect had a long conversation with someone there. He was told that Uconnect is starting to discontinue support for older vehicles. He’s shopping for new head units with CarPlay support.

Dealership confirmed my 2015 is on the latest connect release. Can pair my iPhone 17 with my second car, no problem.

Therefore, this is not an iPhone issue unless it's just not allowing user talking through connect v phone speaker.....

Not sure where that leaves this issue, but.......

I am having the same issue with my 2015 jeep. Honestly never considered there would be an issue with compatibility. I would never have dropped the $ for that phone if I knew I couldn’t use it in my vehicle. I only upgraded from my iphone 12 because I needed extra storage capacity. What a fool.
