To have different wallpapers for your iPhone's home and lock screens, navigate to Settings > Wallpaper, then choose "Add New Wallpaper". Select your desired lock screen wallpaper, and then tap "Customize Home Screen" to choose a separate wallpaper for your home screen, or apply effects like blurring.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

Steps:

  1. Open Settings: Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Access Wallpaper Settings: Tap on "Wallpaper".
  3. Add a New Wallpaper: Select "Add New Wallpaper".
  4. Choose Lock Screen Wallpaper: Pick your desired image for the lock screen. You can choose from photos, photo shuffle, or suggested wallpapers.
  5. Customize Home Screen: Instead of tapping "Set as Wallpaper Pair", tap "Customize Home Screen".
  6. Select Home Screen Wallpaper: Choose a different photo, a color, a gradient, or blur the lock screen wallpaper for your home screen.
  7. Set and Enjoy: Tap "Done" to save your changes and enjoy your separate lock and home screen wallpapers.

Had a thought after signing off and tried again setting Lock Screen with ios18 screen, then set Home Screen with one of my photos. Worked fine BUT can’t seem to do it the other way around. As I said when I set my photo for Lock Screen when I choose Home Screen there is no choice for iOS screen and whatever colour I pick it replaces the Lock Screen I’ve just chosen. Maybe that’s how it is so just have to rethink what I want on the screens. Certainly a pair is the easiest!!

Many thanks, and yes I believe that’s what supposed to happen, but or doesn’t. When I select a cour and press done, the colour is added to my Lock Screen when I’d just added a photo exactly as you’d said. The other strange thing is if as we agree set the Lock Screen then the choices for Home Screen do not include Apple screen choices, say the one for ios18?
