How do I request a refund for accidental subscription from Apple?

Hello Apple Support,

I am writing to kindly request a refund for a purchase that was made accidentally on July 3, 2025, through my Apple ID (ye******@mail.ru). A Telegram Premium annual subscription ($39.99) was activated unintentionally by my sister’s young daughter using my phone. I did not intend to purchase this subscription.

This charge took my last remaining funds, and I really need this money back. I submitted a refund request via reportaproblem.apple.com, but I wanted to provide a personal explanation as well.

The subscription has not been used, and I canceled auto-renewal right away.

Please understand this was not done on purpose, and I kindly ask for your help in issuing a refund.

Thank you very much in advance.

Sincerely,

Vika

As a preventative measure in the future, you have options to prevent that from happening. When you give your Passcode to someone else, you are authorizing them to use your device and that includes making purchases. It does require your Passcode to make an in-app purchase. It simply is not enough to say that you gave them your Passcode and not be responsible for what they did, without taking any of the included measures to prevent that from happening.

A couple of options that would work for you:

I do hope you get a refund. In most cases all transactions in the App Store are final, but at times Apple may provide a compassionate refund. It just should never be expected.
