How do I stop iPhone from connecting to Wi-Fi automatically?

I’ve tried all the suggestions but my phone still wants separately to connect to some Wi-Fi. When that happens cellular cease using the internet. Then I have to go to settings and turn off Wi-Fi again. How can I keep cellular active on the internet?

I'm not sure why you don't want your phone to use the strongest connection it can? This is what your phone is designed to do. If Wifi is stronger, your phone will connect to Wifi. If Wifi isn't strong and cellular would be better, your phone will switch to cellular. And as an FYI, when you open Settings > Wifi - your phone will always be scanning for available networks. This is also normal.
