Anyone else seeing unknown purchases through PayPal entitled "Apple Services"?

I have large and unknown purchases coming from PayPal charging my bank account. Description says "Apple Services" but with a spoof number 800-275-2273. The amounts span from smaller $30+ charges up through over $500. Coming through every day for months, sometimes multiple times a day. My bank transaction only shows "Apple.com/bill" but no detail.

I contacted PayPal to dispute the charges but they refused my claim stating I need to sort it out with the "seller". As the transactions are showing up as Apple Services I have tried to look into how to dispute them and find out what they are supposed to be for however all I can find is information on how to dispute charges in my apple wallet - these charges were not made through my apple wallet so that doesn't help me at all....

Has anyone else experienced this and what did you to resolve it? Was it resolved?

It appears a scammer has your credit card details and is charging as much against your account as possible.

You need to contact your credit card company (use the number on the back of the card) and let them know - RIGHT NOW - that your card has been compromised. They will shut it down and issue you a new card with new numbers.

Dispute as many of the charges as you can and try to have the fake charges reversed. Older ones may be beyond the reporting grace period.

Apple does indeed charge through PayPal if you set it up that way. The phone number is Apple's legitimate support number, and "Apple.com/bill" is Apple's charge line. But, that doesn't mean someone isn't illegally making purchases against your credit card.

Unfortunately, if a scammer has gained access to your PayPal account, they have no good way of knowing the person logging in isn't you.

They will send you an automated email noting a previously unknown computer was connecting to your account. To test, I just logged into my account, which I haven't done for quite a while. Their system did indeed not recognize my fairly new M4 Pro mini and sent an automated email to let me know about the login, just in case it wasn't me. You should have received something similar those months ago when this started.

So, besides getting your current card replaced, you should most definitely go into your PayPal account and change the password. That is, if the crook hasn't already done so, which will lock you out of your own account.
