You'll need to request a refund from Apple directly. Cancelling does not stop the charge. It merely cancels the subscription so it won't renew when it's set to do so.
The subscription charge will still happen, unless it was cancelled more than 24 hours before any free trial is set to expire, or if it did not have a free trial.
