How to stop WhatsApp from recording videos without permission on my iPhone SE?

Sometimes i am observing that whatsapp is recording my video without me explicitly asking for. I suspect my whatsapp is hacked.

Here are the instances where i see this happening :

1) When battery power is low

2) when whatsapp is in the background

I tried multiple times OS updates and whatsapp reinstallation, but i see the issue again.

As far as i remember, this started when i opened a PDF sent on a group chat on whatsapp.

current OS : IOS 18.5
