MacBook Air still linked to previous owner's Apple ID

My name is Enoch M****, and I’m from Malawi. I recently purchased a MacBook Air M1 (2020), Model Number A2337, to use for school purposes.
The seller told me the laptop was ordered from outside the country. However, after trying to set it up, I found that it is still linked to the original owner’s Apple ID.
The email address associated with the Apple ID seems to start with the letter "S" and ends with "@yahoo.com". I did not know this when I bought the laptop.
