is my replacement battery in stock at my local Apple store

Trying to avoid multiple trips to the store. Chat help was useless. Phone advisor contacted the store but they wouldn’t say if the replacement part (battery for iPhone 12 mini) was in stock.

I was advised to go to the store and, if there, the battery would be replaced. If it wasn’t, I’d have to come back. There must be some way to simply check stock. It’s disrespectful of my time.

You don't have to have the battery replaced at an Apple Store.

Maybe you could find a local authorized repair shop closer to your home or work that would actually answer their phone and advise whether they had the battery that you need in stock. Normally, you don't need to make an appointment at a shop like this, but it would be a good idea to let them know you are coming if they have the battery in stock.

The technician(s) are not going to drop what they are doing to replace a battery, so plan to drop the phone off and pick it up in a few hours. I usually drop the phone off in the morning and pick it up during the lunch break.

Yes, it is possible that you might be able to wait while service is performed if things are slow that day, but that's rarely been the case when I have had battery replacements done.
