Unexpected battery drain on my iPhone 16 Pro

What does Home & Lock Screen on battery usage mean and why it uses 45% of my battery ? I have no widgets, background app refresh is turned off and i have a regular iPhone wallpaper. Could someone give me an explanation how to fix it ?

The battery has 37 cycles.

Going from 80% to 20% during a day is considered normal. You would be better off using Optimized Battery Charging and letting the phone charge overnight.

The absolute best way to get maximum use on a charge, as well as slow the decline of battery capacity long term is to enable Optimized Battery Charging (Settings/Battery/Battery Health) and charge the device overnight, every night leaving it powered on. The battery will fast charge to 80%, then pause. During the nighttime pause the phone will use mains power instead of battery power, allowing the battery to “rest”, and thus reducing the need to charge the battery quite as often. The phone will resume charging to reach 100% when you are ready to use your phone; it will “learn” your usage pattern. If you enable iCloud Backup (Settings/[your name]/iCloud - iCloud Backup) the phone will back up overnight also, assuring that you can never lose more than the current day’s updates. Home & Lock Screen is exactly what it says. The Home screen will be on whenever the phone is unlocked, and Lock Screen will be on whenever the lock screen is displayed. The Home screen will also turn on briefly any time you receive a notification. Presumably the screen is on when you are using Instagram, Messages and Messenger. Note that 45% does not mean 45% of your total battery usage; it means 45% of the total energy that has been use since it was last charged. As I don’t see the graph for Battery Level I can’t tell how much of your total energy consumption that means.

Okay so for the past 5 days the home & lock screen is always n.1 in battery usage in average about 27% i am not doing anything heavily demanding on the battery just imessaging , spotify and instagram with messenger in average 20 minutes a day. lets say The phone is charged at 80% at 10 A.M and by 10pm i am slightly above 20% with 2 hours and 40 minutes screen time on average. My 2years old iPhone 13 Pro lasts about 7 hours of screen time.. and home & lock screen rarely use more than 5% of that and i am using them the same.
