MacBook Air M2 extremely slow and unresponsive

My M2 MacBook Air is very slow, almost unresponsive.

1) You have no Time Machine or other backup.

Other backups can be Clones using CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper.


2) Proton VPN WireGuard is crashing and needs to be removed.

macOS is security without the need for third-party AV-ware or VPN's. macOS - Security - Apple


3) You have a lot of third-party programs that I'm not using or familiar with.

MS Office, OneDrive, Steam, OBS Virtual Camera, Voxal.Vad, OpenAI and others from the App Store.


All I can suggest at this point, is to stream-line and run less of those third-party programs at the same time.

Just to add to the advise by @den.thed


Runaway user process - A user process is using a large percentage of your CPU.


Then, there is the issue of Google Chrome


Short and unpopular suggestion for some

May consider an alternative www.brrave.com which is essentially Google Chrome without the Google baggage
