How do I get a refund when my kid made unwanted purchases on my iPhone?

Hello Apple team. My child arbitrarily took the phone to download and register the package and deducted money in my account. That day I sent a refund request but was rejected. I hope the Apple team will support me the money to help me. Thank you

If the refund request was denied by Apple, that is the end of this. Granting that refund is entirely and solely at their discretion.

You will want to reset your iPhone passcode, and your Apple Account password, as well as your other passwords, as some or all of those passwords are likely also compromised, and probably also enable the password prompt when acquiring apps from the App Store.

Just curious, why do you think the Apple Account was compromised?

The reported perpetrator was using the poster’s iPhone for the app purchases.

It is a safe assumption that many of not most kids will know parents’ (and others’) passcodes too, and passcodes can provide access to purchases and to passwords. How do they learn passcodes? Shoulder surfing is common.

I’ve cleaned up after various “loaned” devices, and even the youngest and most innocent-looking of the alleged perpetrators quite often know the devices and functions well, and the resulting problems can range from subtle to pervasive. If there are unauthorized purchases, I’d always assume wider compromise.

I see… I thought kid making app purchases = compromised Apple Account was a bit… “extreme”? (Wrong word choice but whatever.) My reasoning was, kid could’ve taken unlocked phone that’s lying around or mom gave it to him to play games, kid fooled around in game, pressed button to buy stuff, double clicked side button as instructed, payment complete. Now mom wants a refund.

But when you explain it like that, it’s not so unreasonable anymore. (Better word choice. 💪)
