M4 Max Mac Studio 16A to 6A conversion

Bought Mac Studio M4 Max. It comes with a 16A plug. The UPS power back up systems commonly have 6A sockets. Difficult to find a quality UPS with 16A sockets. Many did advise to use a converter. I am concerned about the load and power requirements of M4 Max.

Question:

  1. Is it safe to use converters?
  2. If safe, brands available in India?
  3. If available, which brand makes UPS with 16A sockets?

The math is easy...

The Mac Studio connects directly to AC-power. Specifications indicate that the Mac has a maximum power requirement of 240W.

Assuming that you have a 240VAC supply, the Mac will require no more than ~2A @240V (Watts / Volts = Amps).

A simple plug-converter simply "adapts" the physical plug from one type to another - these being commonly used when travelling between countries. They are also useful in countries that use different AC-power connections with high-load appliances.

An alternative to a simple plug adapter is to use a pigtail extension cable, these often having multiple outlets to simultaneously connect several items. In your situation, you may find a suitable extension cable with a 16A plug to connect to your UPS (or 16A power outlet) that has multiple 6A outlets.

All Apple iPad USB power adapters are designed for use with power sources rated to provide 100V AC to 240V AC at 50Hz to 60Hz. Apple iPad USB power adapters also comply with the IEC/UL 60950-1 and IEC/UL 62368-1 standards for use with power sources rated to provide 115V AC at 400Hz (typically found onboard commercial airlines). As such, as long as long as your 6A/16A outlets fall within the acceptable range of supply voltage, the physical presentation of the connection makes no difference whatsoever. You simply need a simple pin-adapter or connecting cable.
