iPhone won't turn on after being in water

Hello kind people who will see this.

I accidentally brought my iPhone into the water yesterday, it was under the water for about 5 minutes but it seemed to be working fine after I got back to shore and dried it off. Later that day it had the high temperature warning and then it was working fine until it later died and I've been charging it for about 20 minutes now and it still won't turn on. I tried the force restart with no avail.

Am I cooked? Or can my phone still live?

Also

If I am cooked, when transferring to a new phone will it require that I have my old phone handy or is there a way to do it without the old phone?

Let me know your thoughts.

Thank you in advance.

iPhone 11, iOS 15

For those who insist teaching their devices to Swim, should at

least impart & choose to instruct them, correct use of Snorkel.

Cooking devices not advised after near near-drown experience.

When my Apple products think to deep dive into shallow ponds

I'm first to inform them of their folly, and tell them to take higher

ground; traverse the dangerous terrain, in safe manner, is best.

Prevention works: Taught my G3 Mac how to swim with Snorkel.

Trained him; by viewing old movies of jeeps: How to 'ford rivers.

..Be sure to get them warm & dry out, least they get river rot..

Yeah I figured it was toast.

I transferred my data onto an old iPhone 11 that I had from a while ago but getting a 16 sometime next week.

All my photos are backed up onto my Mac.

When I get my new phone, will the process of getting all the apps and photos from my broken phone be easy? Or because I transferred to another phone will the backup from my 13 be lost?

I highly recommend you to go to the nearest apple service center it might be the battery, but just let the apple service touch your phone and fix it.

That might be a good idea, IF Apple would even touch a phone which has suffered liquid damage, but they simply WON'T. Did you read ANY of the posts in this one page thread, before offering advice which won't help?
