Bummer.

Liquid damage is not repairable. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of your local Apple Store.

The phone will have to be replaced.

By the way... the whole rice thing... that's a myth. it doesn't work. It will do more harm than good.

Unfortunately, in a situation like this, placing the phone in rice is probably about the worst thing that you can do. Tiny rice particles get in the ports and openings and expand, clogging things up and not allowing the phone to dry internally.

But, the damage had likely already occurred by the time that you placed the phone in rice.

Make an appointment at the Apple Store / Genius Bar or take the phone to an authorized Apple repair show so they can take a look at the phone. If water damage is detected.....and it very likely will be based on your information......the phone cannot be repaired, so you will be looking at a new replacement phone.

It is not recommended to charge your phone after receiving the liquid alert and to let it dry out for at least 5 hours. That can damage your phone, and it may be unrepairable. Apple will not repair a liquid damaged phone, so all you can do is wait and see what happens.
