I have a Sony Quad Theater system connected to ARC on a Sony Bravia TV and to Apple TV. Movies and TV output in 5.1, but streaming Apple music is just 2 channel. I appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks.

Please review your settings for Apple Music playback, see below. Stereo audio tracks will be played in 2 channel stereo. “Spatial Audio” music tracks can be played using Dolby Atmos, for audio systems capable of decoding that, and thereby (down)mixing to however many speakers this system uses. Spatial Audio may not be available when Audio Format is set to regular Dolby Digital 5.1.

Alternatively, video passthrough through this audio system is supported, but HDMI inputs is likely more limited in number than your TV is.
