Apple Watch Series 10 Colour is getting peeled off.

I purchased my apple watch series 10 Jet Black colour 2 months back. The colour is getting peeled off on its own. I went to apple authorised store and the person told me that it won’t be covered under warranty. It is frustrating that within 2 months the colour is getting off without any actual physical damage. Even China products don’t lose their colour so easily.

That definitely sounds frustrating — especially considering how new your Apple Watch is. While cosmetic issues like peeling color are often considered “wear and tear” and excluded from standard warranty coverage, it still shouldn't be happening this early without any damage.

You might want to document the issue thoroughly (photos, timeline, usage conditions) and escalate it to Apple Support directly — sometimes online support can be more flexible than in-store staff.

Dear All,

I’m facing the same issue as well. The black coating on my Apple Watch Series 10 started peeling off within just three months of use. When I approached iPlanet, they claimed it was due to sweat or exposure to chemicals. This seems to be a common problem with many watches, and I believe Apple should take responsibility for it. If not, we should come together and raise a consumer complaint.I have created a group chat

I live in Thailand and mine is also doing this. Apple upper level tech support just giving me the run around and expects me drive 500km to get it inspected at an Apple store. They can tell from the photos it is manufacturing defect. Also, just a simple Google search, which I told the, can confirm this. They won't accept it as anything other than cosmetic but told me if I paid the fee for an Apple Care repair would replace it. I told no it should be free as it is three months old and clearly a manufacturing defect and they are not properly applying the anodized paint. Looking forward to the day my battery goes below 80%. Apple should be ashamed of themselves. Just admit they f'd up and issue a recall and give everyone a new watch that has been properly made. Also on the series 10 the ECG is super finicky. On my Series 6 I had no issues other than needing a new battery. Most of the time ECG says poor recording or quits during the 30 seconds. Very difficult to get a good reading. I think in the series 10 they are using some junk sensor?

Which series apple watch did u have

like mine is series 10 and its back case color is peeling off and the side home button is stuck and like in the store they say that its wear and tear and not covered under warranty but the apple customer care support team says that it’s completely covered under warranty and u should get the replacement of the watch they insisted me to go to the nearest apple service centre and ask the team and call the customer support care to speak on their behalf. Hope so they get me the watch replaced…

I am having the same issue with my watch purchased in April. Took to Apple Store and was told it is not covered by warranty by a technician. Then a supervisor came over with a magnifying glass and looked me in the eye and told me I scratched it off with the charger or with dirt?!! So why is the glass at the front or the back not scratched? No response.

These are not scratches, these are circular pitting that seems to be eroding the back of the watch, not scratches at all. The sides /wheel where mostly handled has no scratches or pitting -as yet, so why on the underside??

I wished I had looked at the forum beforehand and saw these examples, instead of being gaslit by the store when they must have seen this on numerous occasions. It is extremely disappointing that an item designed to be worn 24/7 is degrading underneath where it should have the least impact. Is seems it not designed to be near human skin only sit on the charger. I was also told it was because it was an aluminium case- oh dear my fault, I should have spent more money on a better watch!!!

So I did not get a positive result from going to the store. Very upset and disappointed with Apple and the service I received.

Apple Watch series 10 - Jet Black, colours are coming out under the crown area and near charging area and it has been only few months and Apple care people are saying to pay to get the new watch instead of sorting this out. I told them I am ready to pay to get the watch replaced provided Apple take guarantee that this issue won’t happen again, but they denied that they cannot take any guarantee. If any one could help me what to do next on this issue, I will be thankful to them. Thanks in advance..

I purchased my Apple Watch series 10 jet black last December I was very happy with the purchase as it was my first Apple Watch the jet black colour looked stunning in the beginning but after just 2 months it start loosing the colour on the back plate I thought it would be my fault. I would have bumped it to something. But just around April it was increasing significantly and now it has worsen to the level where it makes me uncomfortable looking at it.

I need a solution to this immediately as a 50 k watch should not have this kind of quality control issues I believe.

if any payable option is also available that would help me a lot.

Apple Watch Series 10 Colour is getting peeled off.
