How do I send a # or number during a call on iPhone 14 Pro?

I was trying to update the login info for my credit card, received a robot call to confirm, asking me to click #

on my keypad. I tried on the phone app but only got a page with numbers for making a call, the click on

the keypad there wasn't transmitted or received. Is there another keypad I can use? Or how do I transmit

the requested symbol or number when receiving a call. This has happened before always, not just credit

card issue. How could I have sent the confirmation # to the caller?

The incoming call has a keypad in the lower right. I got here while on the call. Of course, you need to be using the Phone app to see this. If you’re not, press the phone icon.

The upper choice, which you originally stated was for outgoing calls, may not look quite identical when an incoming call occurs, but the symbols shown near the bottom will appear, and tapping the keyboard symbol is required. The second screenshot then a0plies. The timing - clicking before answering the phone call - is not required.
