Stop large cellular data usage from General in System Settings

How do you stop an iPhone from using large data amount from General in System Settings when wifi assist is disabled and low data mode is active on all Sim cards.

I see this every month that 1-5 Gb of data is being used by System Settings -> General.

What is it even used for?

And everything I have been able to find suggest these settings - Wifi assist disabled and low data mode enabled on all Sim Cards.

Do any of you have suggestions of how to get my iPhone to stop this?

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 18

use WiFi...

View or change cellular data settings on iPhone - Apple Support

do some google search for "best ways" or some such... for tips and tricks.

5GB/30 days in a month —hardly seems outrageous unless you have a tiny data package.

Change your cell provider if there are eating you up with Data usage charges—like highway robber.

You can port your same number to a different provider...

I have unlimited call/ txt /data— for a flat $25.00/mo. fee with Visible (Verizons little brother), there are others of course...

I am 100% cellular— my internet last month was 53.52GB (slow month.) at the peak of the football season streaming HD my peak usage was 450GB/mo.

Yeah I am on WiFi 90% of the time.

and the links you posted is just the same as the internet says which is WiFi assist and Low data mode.

The rest is not relevant to System settings cellular usage.

I do have 100Gb a month it is just annoying the month with high data usage that almost 5% is used by the system unnecessarily when it could wait 15 min for WiFi.
