Logic Pro X inteface faint and distorted

MBA M1/MacOS 14.7/Logic Pro X 11.2.1

I went to record bass on a demo today, and neither of my two interfaces is talking to Logic properly.

PreSonus Audiobox2 USBA > USBC adapter

Audient EVO8 > USBC

MacOS/Logic recognises the interface when it's connected.

I can monitor the bass signal on the interface, as well as hear drum and guitar playback from Logic. But all Logic is getting at the track input is a bit of crackling and farting. If I arm and press record, nothing is recorded at all. I tried deleting audio plists and that didn't help. What else should I try? thanks.

Set the Mic Mode of your computer to Standard. You can find the setting either in the main menu of your mac displayed as an orange mic icon or in the control center.

Just disable it and you should be good to go. It has nothing to do with Logic Pro. It refers to a macOS feature that optimizes audio input for various situations, such as voice isolation for calls or standard mode for recording.

Thanks, I just worked that out myself, recorded my bass part and came back here to say it's fixed. A bit bloody annoying. Can I disable that, or is it necessary for Logic to work properly?
