I have my phone set so that it doesn’t ring after 10 o’clock, but I allow certain people to contact me through that block. I do not know how to set that up again.

Settings>Focu>Do Not Disturb (or which ever one you use). Tap on "People." On the next page, make sure that "Allow Notifications From" is checked. Tap the plus sign and add the people you want to be able to call you.
Then, go down to "Allow Calls From" and selected "Allowed People Only."
