Is my iPhone blocking third party charging cables?

I was charging my phone with a third party cable when I unplugged it to go downstairs to eat. When I went back upstairs that cable stopped charging with my phone.

However that same cable will still charge my AirPods and my phone will still charge with other cables. I tested the cable out more and found it won’t charge any iPhone but other apple devices it will charge fine.

I think the iPhones are blocking that cable since it is third party but I am not sure, it dose not give me any message or anything, just simply dose not charge.

Dose anyone know why this is happening?

Apple lightning cables contain a chip. The phone can recognize that. Devices like AirPods don't particularly know or care about it.

It's likely the chip in the cable failed. The only thing it has to do with being 'third party' is that it's probably a cheap non MFI certified cable.

Don't buy cheap non-MFI certified cables.
