How can I add AppleCare to iPhone 15 months after switching from iPhone 12?

I had two iPhones on my account. The phone I used I had AppleCare on that was an iPhone 12. My adult son had an iPhone 15. I ended up paying his phone off through the AT&T store. I switched to using it since my son moved, and was no longer using. I sold my old phone months ago, but forgot to switch coverage to the new phone. How can I get coverage on this new phone even though I’ve already had it for months.

Sorry, but Apple is very firm on this. Once purchased brand new, you have 60 days to purchase an AppleCare+ Plan. Since one was not purchased within that timeframe, it's too late to buy one now. You can often buy a plan from your carrier, but it won't be the same as AppleCare+ from Apple.
