Unauthorized $50 charge after clicking on a support email link from appnebula.co

I am contacting you because I have encountered a rather unpleasant situation. I recently paid for access to additional features through a website under the Nebula brand, I believe it was appnebula.co or something very similar. After making the payment, I did not receive the promised content. I checked the Nebula website, expecting something to appear, but nothing happened. Of course, I tried to contact their support service by clicking on the email address listed on the page. I didn`t even send a message, I just clicked on the link. Later that day, I noticed a separate payment of $50 on my account, it was some kind of Apple charge. There was no explanation of why or what it was for. No pop-ups, no confirmation requests just a sudden charge. I have no idea how or why this happened, and frankly, I`m very upset that simply clicking on a support email address can result in a payment being processed. This is not the standard App Store experience. I hope Apple investigates how this external page can work in conjunction with an app listed in the App Store

Maybe this will help someone: I had to submit an official request to my bank, provide a lot of documents, and after many days of investigation, I finally managed to get the charges canceled.

Most likely, this is the only real way to avoid losing your money

That is the way and glad you got the issue resolved. That is also true for any other fraudulent transaction as well. Hopefully you are now aware on how this occurred by tricking you on the website, believing you were paying for a "reading"/quiz results and it was actually a free trial for a subscription that is going to charge you later if you do not cancel.

You are going to get this charge whether you download any app from the App Store or click a link in an email as that is entirely unrelated to the subscription you previously agreed to on the website and were unaware. In fact if you would have signed up for the free trial through the app downloaded from the store, you would have been able to cancel the subscription very easily as with all subscriptions that are managed by Apple through an in-app purchase. If you rely on simply blaming Apple who was not involved at all or thinking it was from an email link, than you are going to lose sight on what you actually did to facilitate this fraud and it is likely going to happen again.

Are you kidding me? Imagine you come to my store, I hand you something for free and then start charging you for it without warning. That’s exactly what’s happening here. This kind of behavior should have no place in the Apple Store or anywhere, for that matter.

It is not the App Store where this problem is happening, it occurs directly with Nebula on their website and makes no difference if you download their app or not. None of that involves Apple at all and nothing to do with the App Store. There are many fraudulent websites on the internet that will take your money, so be aware and Social Media is a major source of those frauds as the poster is paid to refer you to these sites.
