iPhone 14 Pro Max rapid battery health decline within 9 days

My sister bought iPhone 14 Pro Max . 9 days later its battery dropped from 91-89% so it is losing 2%. I want to know why is it dropping so fast ? Due to the phone or battery or the quality?

Your sister likely bought a used or refurbished iPhone 14 Pro Max. Unless she bought directly from Apple, it is a roll of the dice buying a used phone.

Unauthorized dealers will often "boost" the battery numbers to make the battery look better than it really is.

If there is an option to return the phone for a refund, that would be my recommendation. Otherwise, all that you can do is keep an eye on things and hope that the battery decline will slow down.....so you can avoid having to purchase a new battery in the next 6-8 months.

Where did your sister purchase that iPhone from when Apple stopped manufacturing them years ago?

Even if that particular model was sitting in a brand new sealed box, the internal lithium ion battery is going to drain.

I don’t know specifically what is happening, however; the battery drain is most likely due to a combination of factors, including (and not limiting to) age and sudden use after sitting idle for an extended period of time.

Good luck! 👋🏼😉
