iPhone 16 Pro CarPlay connection issue on Skoda Karoq

i have a new iphone 16 pro. I'm trying to connect it to Carplay on my Skoda Karoq. intermittently it cones up with a message saying connect but then the message disappears and i can’t click on connect so i can’t use carplay. I did have intermittent problems with my iPhone 11.

Any ideas please?
