MacBook Air built in display turns off & doesn't turn back on

Ever since I purchased my MacBook Air with M2, I've always had an issue where immediately after the built in display turns off I cannot turn it back on unless I close the top nearly 100% and reopen.

Calling Apple immediately after the purchase of this MBA they couldn't help with finding resolution.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have thoughts regarding a possible resolution?

Thanks.

I found the resolution shortly after posting, but was unable to delete.

Under Lock Screen the screensaver would activate after the display turned off when inactive.

The screensaver needed to be deactivated, which may not have been available under Ventura.
