Issue reinstalling an offloaded app (still available on app store)

Hello,

I have the game 'Love You To Bits' which I play occasionally.

Because I ran out of space on my iphone 11 Pro, iOS offloaded this game.

Now I am trying to reinstall it and it says "unable to install, app is not available on the App Store".

The problem is, the app IS still available. If I go to the app store and locate this app, I can see the cloud download icon.

I pressed on it and the app downloaded normally, except now I have 2 icons:

one for the offloaded app that contains my saved games - this one won't reinstall
one for the freshly downloaded app, opens normally, cannot see any saved data

Can someone please advise on how to solve this and get back to a working app with my saved data?

Hi brbo,

Thank you for the links you shared. I had already gone through that.

I tried again, uninstalled the fresh downloaded one and reinstalled via App Store > Account > Apps > My apps.

After install I still had the same issue, brand new game. However I noticed it logged into my Game Center account.

I went into the game settings (cog wheel icon) and clicked the double arrow icon --> chose "Sync Data".

That's it!!! It found my saved game progress in the Game Center and loaded it. I can now continue to play where I had left off.

For now I'm going to keep the unloaded app, should be able to remove it but now it's working I don't want to jinx it 😛
