I'm really happy about the security issue. but what if there are people who actually forget their icloud? I wonder how they can avoid the trouble and does the AI built in security handler cause people a little trouble?

Typically an Apple ID is an email address you have used. To me I guess forgetting one would be like forgetting the name of a pet or a child. If you are currently using a mobile device that is logged into your account, go to Settings and tap your name at the top.

Look in Keychain, and in a browser's security settings if you use it to automatically sign into Apple when using a browser.

If you find you can’t sign in, you can request account recovery (read this support article: How to use account recovery when you can’t reset your Apple Account password - Apple Support ) to regain access to your account. Account recovery might take a few days or longer, depending on the specific account information you can provide to verify your identity. Hi! If you're trying to recover a forgotten iCloud account, a good first step is iforgot.apple.com. You can look up your Apple ID there and start the recovery process.

This official Apple article might help too: support.apple.com

I had a similar issue recently and found some useful guidance via ChatGPT, which pointed me to the right Apple support steps—surprisingly helpful!

Forgotten Apple Account:

Your Apple Account is what you have forgotten. It is no more than an eMail Address. You are able to log into these forums just fine. So, if it is the same account as logging into these forums, then they'd use the same eMail address and password. It may have been an eMail address you used in the past. Also, look in the Keychain on another device that was used with his account, and see if you can see it there.

Not a good idea to rely on Chat GPT for any factual information, or any AI tool for that matter. Even Google Gemini recognizes the problem of doing that with Chat GPT and also their own AI models..

When you're facing a technical issue with an Apple product, it's natural to seek quick answers. However, relying solely on ChatGPT for Apple support can be unreliable due to several factors:

  • Outdated information: ChatGPT's knowledge base may not be current with the latest iOS versions, hardware specifications, or Apple's official policies. This can lead to incorrect or irrelevant troubleshooting steps.
  • Misunderstanding context: While ChatGPT is good at processing language, it may struggle with the nuances of complex technical issues. This can result in the chatbot providing solutions that don't directly address the specific problem you're facing.
  • Incorrect or misleading outputs: ChatGPT and similar AI tools are known to occasionally generate incorrect or misleading information. It's crucial to be aware of this potential for error, particularly when dealing with sensitive technical advice.

If you are looking for Apple Support, it is best to ask a real person who has actual experience with the issue depending on your device or OS. Resetting your Apple Account password is a straightforward answer and all the information you need, including the link you provided, was already made available by Limnos in their post 5 days ago.
