Mac warning about identity theft and illegal activity

I just triggered a warning on my MAC saying my computer has been locked because of illegal activity involving identity theft. With instructions to call Apple Support immediately. Is this a scam?

Hacked or real security warning on my MacBook Air? While on my Mac, I received a large security warning that I had been compromised. I called the number that was provided and a man told me his name and Apple ID. Then he had me load a couple of apps and said I had to keep my laptop on overnight so it could be fixed. I tried to report a scam attempt to Apple but could not find it tried to send information about a scam attempt that said my computer was locked for security reasons to apple. When i typed in reportphishing@apple.com into the address bar nothing came up but google search results. What's up. I was scammed for over 330,000 last November with a new Mac book Air. My old MacBook Pro never had an instance. MacBook should be placing warnings in every new product they send. We trust Mac Products. Now you report phishing site doesn't seem to be working? You didn't trigger anything. Either a site intentionally displayed a lie as a popup, or you received a lie via email or a text.

Regardless of how it appeared, it's a scam.
