My Apple Pencil Gen 1 no longer works with my iPad 11. I tried re-pairing via Bluetooth, but now the pencil isn't detected. When plugged into an older iPad, I get a compatibility warning, confirming the connection works. I haven't found any information about iPad 11 not recognizing the Apple Pencil Gen 1.

Please clearly identify your iPad model, as there is no iPad labeled iPad 11.

There are types with an 11" screen, and only 2 of those are compatible with the First Generation Apple Pencil.

That model number corresponda to a 11th generation or A16 iPad. Yes, it is compatible with a first generation Apple Pencil, but the Apple Pencil needs an adapter to connect to the iPad and is only paired with a cable.

Issue is resolved. The charging cable required replacement.
