Express replacement wait time and AppleCare status for iPhone 16 Pro Max
Hello! I short circuited my iPhone 16 Pro Max (idk how it happened..) and when I took it to the Apple Store, they advised me to call Apple; I have AppleCare One, but they said they couldn't give me a new one there since the charging port was too fried to fail their diagnostic test (it was either call Apple or wait a week for a repair). I called Apple and they processed the express replacement after I removed the iPhone entirely from my Apple account. I've gotten express replacement twice in the past, and by day 2 (2 days after ordering it), the phone was already in my hands. Well it is day two and the replacement hasn't even shipped yet, only shows it as replacement pending.
Here is where the dilemma starts. I purchased a cheap iPhone because I quite literally cannot get into my house without my phone (digital everything, sorry not sorry), and I need my phone for work. I found out that it replaced my broken iPhone on my AppleCare One subscription when I bought it, meaning that now my old phone doesn't have AppleCare.
I wanted to just make sure that, even though the AppleCare was swapped and the device is off my profile, I will still be able to do express replacement with it because I ordered it when I had AppleCare. I called to confirm status and they didn't tell me it was cancelled or anything. Also, is this a normal wait time for express replacement? For context, the last time I did it, the phone came in 2 days and I ordered the replacement at 9 PM. I ordered it this time at 2 PM and well.. here we are.
Sorry for the long message, I am panicking hard! I have an upcoming trip to NYC on Tuesday and quite literally cannot go without my phone there. Thank you in advance!
