Request to Delete Incompatible iCloud Backup After iOS Beta Downgrade

Hello,

I recently downgraded my iPhone 13 Pro from iOS 18.6 / 26.0 beta to a stable iOS version.

Now I’m trying to create a new iCloud backup, but I keep getting a message that says there is a backup from a newer version of iOS, and I cannot proceed.

I’ve tried deleting the old iCloud backup from my iPhone, from iCloud.com, and from the iCloud app on Windows/Mac, but none of these methods work — I receive an error saying the backup cannot be deleted.

I would like to ask you to manually remove this incompatible iCloud backup from my account so I can create a new backup on my current iOS version.

Thank you very much for your help!

You have posted to a user-to-user site. We are all users here.....just like you. No one here will be able to delete the backup for you.

Apple is not here, so they will not see your post, but even they did, they would not be able to delete the iCloud backup either.

It sounds like you made a backup when the phone was running iOS 26. If that is the case, you will have to reinstall iOS 26 if you want to remove the backup.

Recall that Apple strongly advised that you only install the beta on a "spare" phone.
