IPhone screen brightness dimmed suddenly and won’t get any brighter

I cant seem to find anyone who is in the same situation as mine.

Before you ask, yes, i’ve went to settings and done the most recommended actions, such as turning it off and on, turning off the auto-brightness, display zoom, etc. and it didnt dim because it was in the sun or overheated or overused or that I have an old Iphone.

My IPhone 14 screen went extremely dim out of nowhere, I was on the homescreen about to unlock it and suddenly it dimmed by 40%. It usually dims when theres tons of light outside, but i was indoors and under bad lighting. When i went to turn it up, it was already at full brightness. Usually it adjusts after a while but it has stayed extremely dim. Even now, it’s like 1/3 of its usual brightness and it is set to full brightness. I have tried everything and have scoured the internet and it seems like nobody has the same issue. I need help.

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 18

Force your iPhone to restart:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  3. Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo (this might take longer than 10 seconds).

If that doesn’t work, then unfortunately what you have described could be a possible hardware failure.

While this is unfortunate, it is not uncommon.

However, only an Apple Genius can review the cause and provide a complete solution.

Therefore, I recommend service.
