iPhone 14 Pro Max screen constantly dims when locked

My iPhone 14 Pro Max recently started to constantly dim by itself, never happened before. It dims during nights and days, no matter what type of light or no light - it always dims, it happens when it’s locked , it doesn’t do it when it’s in use. The phone is up to date. Tried every option in setting , nothing helps. Any suggestions?

It sounds like you're using the Alwasy On Display? Go to --> Settings > Display & Brightness > Always On. If the switch is on, the display should dim when locked, that's what Always on does.

Does the iPhone Feel Hot?

If the iPhone feels hot, then itself that can lead to dimming. So, let it cool. See my User Tip: Cooling Down an Overheating iPhone - User Tip

“Always on display “ has always been ON since I purchased the phone several years ago, the screen never dimmed my itself. It started doing it recently for no apparent reason.

It's supposed to do that if Always on is turned on. If your phone didn't do that previously, something wasn't right then. Now it's doing what it's supposed to do.
