The QR code provided for activating an eSIM can typically be used only once. Once it has been scanned and activated on a device, it becomes invalid for future use—even on the same device after a reset. If you need to set up your eSIM again (for example, after switching phones or erasing your current one), you’ll need to contact your mobile carrier. They can either issue a new QR code or guide you through an alternative activation method, such as manual entry of the eSIM details or using their official app, if available.

Is there anyway to find out? My old iPhone 12 has eSIM support, I thought all series 12 had that?

Find your model number:

If this is an iPhone 12 originally sold in China mainland, it does not have eSIM:

A2404 Is a model originally sold for China mainland, Macau, and Hong Kong, and like most phones for China mainland that model does not support eSIM, and eSIM cannot be retrofitted.
