iPhone 13 Battery Swelling After iOS 18 Update – Urgent Safety & Service Issue

After updating to iOS 18, my iPhone 13 began shutting down randomly despite full charge. Within days, the battery swelled, causing the screen to lift from the body. This is a serious safety hazard. I visited Unicorn service centers in Aundh and Baner (Pune), but both had 4–5 hour wait times, unhelpful staff, and no resolution. I was told to take leave from work or come on weekends. Many users are reporting the same issue, yet there’s no official fix or support.

Batteries can swell when they are failing. Chances are your battery health dipped below 80% some time ago. It's your job to check its health once in a while and when the health dips to 80% or lower, pay an Apple Authorized Service Provider to replace the battery. You should power the phone off and NOT use it again until you go to your closest Apple Store Genius Bar or Apple Authorized Service Provider. A swollen battery is a safety concern. So get this taken care of.
