How do I transfer my pro res videos from my iPhone 16 Pro Max to my PC and be able to see the video

I have a YouTube channel, which I started recording using the camera on my Lenovo laptop. I took a break from my channel, but I'm starting to post again. I want to use my iPhone 16 Pro Max camera now.

I went out to a location & recorded my first video. When I got home, I made sure that my iPhone pics/videos were on my laptop through iCloud. I dragged & dropped one of the videos onto my PC. When I tried to open it with Windows Media Player, it gave me this message:

I've moved videos over from iCloud before without issue. This is the first time I've shot a ProRes video & tried to open it on my laptop. Any suggestions on the best way to handle this issue? Thank you!

You'll need an app that can open Pro Res. Its not your typical video format, so windows can't handle it on its own.

If using Adobe Apps apple offers plugins to support Pro Res.

click here ➜ Apple ProRes RAW for Windows 1.3 - Apple Support

Alternatively you can use VLC to playback the video, but you won't be able to edit it.
