Will auto-deleting conversations on iPad affect iPhone messages when iCloud is not enabled?

Hi I am trying to free up some more storage on my Ipad. I do NOT have messages turned on in my icloud. I want to turn on delete messages after 30 days on my ipad, so it can have more storage for school. But I do not want any of the conversations on my iphone to be deleted. If i turn on the auto delete after 30 days on my ipad will it also start doing it on my iphone too?
