If you’re getting frequent “certificate not trusted” popups on your iPhone, it usually means your device doesn’t trust the website or app’s security certificate. To fix this:

  1. Make sure your iPhone’s date and time are correct.
  2. Update your iOS to the latest version.
  3. Avoid using unsecured Wi-Fi networks.
  4. If it’s a website, try clearing Safari’s cache or use a different browser.
  5. If the problem persists, don’t proceed on that site—it might be unsafe.

  1. Is this your corporate/organisation/enterprise/School Management iPhone? Then please contact the system administrator of your corporate//organisation/enterprise/School Management
  2. If it is your device, in that case, do you have any profile installed by your corporate/organisation/enterprise/School Management?
    1. Erase the profile added by you If you have installed a profile on your own --> Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone - Apple ...
    2. Or please contact the system administrator of the organisation who provided the profile to you

Interception by a Proxy or Network Filter

  • Some Wi-Fi networks, particularly public or corporate ones, intercept and inspect traffic using their own SSL certificates (called HTTPS inspection or MITM proxies).
  • If they inject their own certificate in place of Google’s, your iPhone will reject it unless the root certificate is manually installed and trusted.
  • It’s rare, but if the actual certificate for *.googlevideo.com is expired, misconfigured, or served incorrectly, iOS will flag it.

ChatGPT says:

*.googlevideo.com is the CDN domain used by YouTube. If you’re seeing it come up with trust issues, some app (like a video downloader, alternate YouTube client, or ad-blocker) might be trying to intercept video streams.

If the *.googlevideo.com certificate on your iPhone is showing as issued by “WR2”, then:

🚨 That Certificate Is NOT Legitimate

WR2 is not a Google certificate authority. The correct issuer for Google certificates should be something like:

  • Google Trust Services LLC
  • GTS CA 1C3, GTS CA 1P5, etc.

If you’re seeing WR2 (See the Screenshot posted by you), it means:

Your connection is being intercepted by a man-in-the-middle (MITM) proxy, and the proxy is presenting its own certificate in place of Google’s.
